In 2010, we will also start our summer intern programme which will last for ten weeks. The length and content of the programme enables us to really get to know you. Equally as important, it gives you the chance to see if you like us and the work we do. Of course, you will be paid well for your hard work and if all goes well you could be offered a position in our industrial placement programme for the following year, or further intern work.

Your role is to identify the key steps, partners, costs and risks involved in taking a consented wind farm project through the construction phase. Based on publicly available information, and discussions with EPC consultants, you will recommend industry best practices, checks and controls that we should put in place.

Your role is to identify, compare and score local planning policies across the UK with respect to their attitude towards onshore wind farm planning applications. Traditionally, wind farm operators have sought to site projects based on two critical factors-rich wind resource and minimal environmental impact. With the rise of NIMBYism and anti-wind groups, even the best sited windfarm projects have faced enormous planning delays and poor approval rates. According to recent statistics approval rates for wind farm planning applications are less than 25%. You will present your findings and help us prioritize those areas where we should be looking for potential sites to host wind turbines.
